Family Hall Bath

The project

Family baths fail at the details: unsealed tub flanges, MDF vanities that swell, one towel bar for three kids. We rebuilt this one with a cast-iron tub set in a waterproofed alcove, large-format porcelain with minimal grout lines, and a solid-wood vanity with a drawer per kid.

Ventilation matters as much here as in a kitchen — an oversized quiet exhaust fan on a humidity sensor runs until the moisture is actually gone, not until someone remembers the switch.
