Lakefront Chef's Kitchen
Cornelius, NC

The project
The original layout put the range in a corner with no landing zone and pushed everyone who wanted a glass of water through the cook's path. We removed the peninsula, relocated the range to the exterior wall so we could duct a true 1,200 CFM hood outside, and built a 10-foot island with a dedicated prep sink so two people can work without crossing.
Storage went from 60% cabinet doors to 80% drawers — pots, pans, and dry goods all land within one step of where they're used. Panel-ready refrigeration keeps the sightline to the lake clean.
Scope highlights
- 10' quartzite island with prep sink and seating for four
- 48" dual-fuel range, 1,200 CFM ducted hood
- Full-height drawer storage, panel-ready refrigeration
- White oak floating shelves, under-cabinet task lighting
